Atlas Moth (Attacus atlas) Caterpillar Molting
Atlas moth (Attacus atlas) caterpillar molting. After the process is complete, and the new body is ready to be used, the caterpillar began to eat its old skin.

Atlas moth caterpillars feed voraciously on the foliage of certain citrus and other evergreen trees. In the area where I live, they can be easily found on santol tree (Sandoricum koetjape) .

The caterpillars are adorned with fleshy spines along their backs which are covered in a waxy white substance.
